Chaos in Design
*Both shows are full presentations of all Dance and all Ballroom classes, with the same numbers performed each night, so do not feel obligated to buy seats for both nights but we'd love to have you if you'd like to see both!
This year's theme for the Gateway Dance and Ballroom Programs is Design, which can be described as creating art that serves a purpose/is functional. We've looked at various design elements like lines, shapes, colors, balance, contrast, and even bigger concepts of design including textures, fashion, music, architecture, and more.
The Spring semester has been focused on chaos - the opposite of Fall's theme, harmony. We invite you to our world of chaos, as our routines are centered around ideas such as time, life, emotions, light, and more.
We are introducing something new this semester - a PRESHOW that will begin at 7:00 pm, with Ballroom freestyles, competitions, and scholar choreographed routines from both Dance and Ballroom. The regular concert will begin as soon as the preshow ends, around 7:30 pm, and will last no more than 90 minutes.
